Battery electric cars (BEVs) are selling at twice the rate as plug-in hybrids electric cars (PHEVs) from January through April 2015. In 2015 BEVs have 21,403 cars sold versus PHEVs have 10,684 cars sold. The top selling electric car is the Tesla Model S, which has sold 6,800 vehicles in the U.S. in 2015 through April.
